I have never used music in the background. It would probably annoy me to have music playing in the background while I was trying to play. It annoys me a little when listening to the Order 66 Podcast and they randomly start playing music in the background.
However, I am not much of a music fan. I can go weeks or months without listening to music.
I may start using Star Wars music to bridge scenes in my new Edge of the Empire game, but that will just be sort clips.
