Is Wizards' team also reading this?

Hello guys,

this is probably the first time I initiate a thread here on EN World so please bear with me and take this for what it is, an open question to all of you

I couldn't help noticing that there is a rather significant difference between how we are perceiving DDN here (as far as I can see an increasingly positive opinion, maybe not about single details but on the direction it is taking) and what is the general trend on the Wizards' forum. I would dare to say a blatant difference, If you'll indulge me.

Briefly speaking a LOT of people are judging DDN (but better it would be saying what we know so far about DDN) the worst idea ever conceived for D&D.

As I am really, really happy about what I am seeing so far, my question is: is the DDN developing team also reading this forum? Shall I express my huge satisfaction for what they are doing also on the Wizards' forum? Is an opinion posted there more relevant and/or considered that the ones we express here (which obviously can be and with varying extent are different from my personal ones)?

I hope I made myself clear enough :)

Thanks!

Bran

While I would certainly hope they aren't only checking their own forums, they're probably up to their eyeballs in comments as well - I imagine they'd have a hard time keeping up with both sites.

mudbunny and Morrus, can you comment if there are any eyes on Enworld from Wizards? It would make my day to know they have an eye on what we're saying.

While I can't say for certain, I know that ENWorld is one of Trevor Kidd's go-to places for determining the feel of the community. He knows that the overall atmosphere here is very different from that of the WotC forums.

In the weeks before the playtest release Mearls said that surveys (such as the one released late last week) will be the primary point of feedback. Which makes sense in terms of getting focused feedback.

Maybe. But you could also post your observations on Wizards to be sure.
ENWorld is full of roleplaying experts though. The comments are meaningful.

Most Game Designers these days seem to have clever software that can pick up terms the are interested in (such as their names) and tell them its being used, so the way they consume forums is very different to the past.

I was a regular poster on the WotC boards in the days of yore, but I have long since given up on them due to the culture changing for the worse. It's pretty much a mix of trolling and flaming, except that unlike in D&D, the trolls seem to survive the flames.

Frankly, I wonder if the WotC staff thinks the same thing. In any case, I'd fill out the siuveys, post away here, and go to their boards at your own risk.

I would definitely complete the surveys as you receive them, but I am sure they are spot checking these forums as well. They just can't guarantee they will have the time to keep up with all the threads, so it makes more sense for them to say the surveys and their own forums are the primary place to post feedback.

From the twittersphere I keep hearing how people are saying bad things about D&D Next. I avoid the WotC forums and most of my discussion on D&D Next has been here, G+ and Twitter. I think the discussion here has been very civil for the most part.
