Item to hide identity?

I was wondering if there is an item to prevent spells like true seeing or whatever to see through the spell Polymorph so I can keep my character's identity hidden. Thanks. :)

I'm not sure about items that do this. There's the ring of mind shielding, but that's just a defense against alignment and thought detection.

I would assume a powerful spell like mind blank would prevent true seeing, but the costs of such an item would probably be prohibitive.

And there's the 7th level Spymaster (CAdv) ability called Deep Cover (Ex), which would effectively hide your identity.

I introduced a ring in one campaign that masks any magical aura on the subject. Essentially a "Magic Aura" effect that persistently affects the wearer. It didn't prevent detection via True Seeing or the like, but it worked against those pesky Detect Magic spells that kept getting thrown around.

True Seeing is rare enough and powerful enough that I don't believe there's much that can block it. A Ring of Mind Shielding will protect against interrorgating effects, and a Misdirection item would divert most Detect spells. But the point of True Seeing is precisely to see through shape alterations, and if it were easily blocked it wouldn't have a significant material component cost. To beat a spell with a level of 5th-7th and a very specific effect, you'd need an equally specific effect of higher level. So we're talking a Wish/Miracle or Artifact, IMO. Maybe a Ring at the top of the power scale.

On the up side, True Seeing is expensive enough that you're not going to run into people using it casually, unless the DM is out to screw with your character.

The best way to counter True Seeing is to kill everyone that looks at you funny. Or poke their eyes out. Whatever suits your fancy.

Note: I'm not talking about true seeing per se; I'm questioning a specific line of general reasoning.

Discern location is 8th level and has a very, very specific effect. It's blocked by another 8th-level spell (i.e., mind blank).

Also, it's in the nature of D&D that defense often needs to be somewhat less specific than offense. Otherwise, you'd need way too many defenses to get by.
