I've just got home...

My cat does that too. He also sits on my coats and clothes (never underwear though!) if I leave them lying around. I think he does it for the warmth, or maybe he recognizes my smell on the clothes.

We joke that our middle cat, Lina (my avatar), is brain damaged. When she was a kitten, she learned she could open the bedroom door if she pushed hard enough. So, this led to her whacking the door repeatedly with her head. When we moved, our bedroom door actually latched, but she kept bashing her head to try and open it. After over a year, she still hasn't learned.
We usually leave our bedroom door slightly ajar. Our kittens learned pretty quickly that they could open the door by running into it.

So one night, we happen to close the door. We're laying in bed, when we hear the scamper of little kitten feet coming up the stairs. Heading for the door. WHAM! Hazumu runs into the door. There's a pause while we wince. WHAM! She tries again. Determined kitten. A little brain damaged (same cat has no sense of balance, yet loves to climb on the banister above the stairs)
