Interesting. Of course they didn't take the leap and kill classes and levels, but maybe it will be improved some. I'll have to check it out.

I doubt it. The level-based system is pretty much their signature mechanics, or you can do away with class or simply use one class. They don't want to do what TSR did when they branch out all over, and while those games has their appeals, only a portion of the large D&D customer base would try it out.

It is best to retain some familiarity.

Besides, I have yet to see White Wolf (not its subsidiary, Arthaus) to branch out and do a level-based system. I doubt it as they will stick their own signature rules system.
