Jeff Dee Art Gallery Update

Artwork looks very much like Jackson Guice of Marvel comics from early to mid eighties. Cool.

Did he draw Marvel's X-Factor by any chance in the past? His name sounds familiar, but it isn't ringing any bells at the moment. ;)

Oh ya, as a comic-related sidenote...

Comic Gallery

Classic covers from Marvel, DC, and even Dark Horse comics. ;) A new cover every month.

Turgenev, that is one great gallery. Man, the memories...

I totally forgot he'd done all those great images from L1! Whoo!

Jeff Dee, my man.

1 new pic from the D&D Monster & Treasure Assortment, Sets 1 - 3: Levels 1 - 9 (1981), on the Misc D&D Art page. [/B]

Cool. I always liked that one. I always thought the guy on the kneeling in front of the owlbear must be using shocking grasp. I just not noticed, though, that the guy at the chest found Magneto's helmet in the treasure.

And, 15 new superheroic pics on the V&V Art page!

Cool again. I always loved that picture of Magnetor. I'm pretty sure the guy with the cape and sword's name is Nemesis (I think he's mentioned in one of the examples). Where is Motivator II from?

Thanks!

V&V Cover Gallery Update

While this isn't D&D related, it is Jeff Dee related. :) I finally got my V&V Cover Gallery up (there are only a handful of pics but that'll change as I scan/receive them :p). Most of the art is by Jeff Dee, but you can also find some classic art by Jim Holloway, Bill Willingham, Pat Zircher and more. Here's the link for those who are interested:

You know what... I never noticed that until you mentioned it. heh heh heh

I think you are right about Nemesis (that sounds familiar). Motivator II is from FGU's Most Wanted, Volume I book. The character that has always been a personal fav for me is Kali. It was that image waaaaay back in Dragon 90 that got me hooked on V&V. :)

New at the Jeff Dee Gallery:

§ 3 new pics in the Deities & Demigods section (2 Indian gods and one Central American god).

§ 3 new pics in the Misc D&D Art section (three pics from the 1981 Expert D&D rulebook).

§ 18 new pics in the V&V Art section (including pics of the Crusaders and the Crushers!)

I've also updated the V&V Cover Gallery with 8 new cover scans.

Cheers,
Tim

What can I say, I like Jeff Dee art. :)

Click here for a sample of Jeff Dee's inks.

Don't tempt me. ;) I like the idea of an Erol Otus and/or De Leuw gallery...

Turgenev, an Otis gallery would get my vote (were I to get one...a vote, that is).

Keep up the excellent work, good sir!

I don't know, considering your views towards the V&V game... (just kidding). :D

No plans for an Erol Otis gallery even though I'm seriously tempted. :) Actually if I do branch off from the Jeff Dee art vein, I'm tempted to make a gallery of those old D&D ads that use to run in Marvel comics around 1983/84. The ones with Grimslade the Wizard, Indel the Elf, Valerius the Fighter and Saren the Cleric. The art was mostly done by Bill Willingham but I think at least one was done by Jeff Dee (don't quote me on that ;)).

Keep up the excellent work, good sir!

Thank you. I've pretty much exhausted my supply of D&D Jeff Dee art, but I have a ton of V&V art coming soon (characters & covers). In either case, I'm keeping my eyes open just in case I see something that I can add to the gallery.

Thanks again. Here is a bigger version of my avatar if you want to see more detail. :)

Cheers,
Tim

Edited: I got the classes mixed up for Grimslade & Valerius.

Regarding the sword wielding character in the V&V section you have listed as unknown, he is called Excalibur.

(GMV has almost all V&V modules and game books :) )
