John Cooper reviews MMIII, and finds loads of mistakes

Criticising? Sure. Questioning it's validity? Nope. Who's arguing? Not me.

I wasn't questioning the validity of the review. I wasn't aware that a critique of a reviewer needed to be so carefully phrased or placed.

I was offering my insight into the review. Nothing more, nothing less, and as valid as anyone else's opinion. I thought this thread was about the review so I made a comment.

Would it be wise for me to now say, "Don't call me a crossing guard!" I'm not a crossing guard, and you never called me one, and although it is valid to simply say that I do not wish to be called one by you, it's disingenuous to say it in such a way because it creates the appearance that you had the intention of calling me a crossing guard.

So why quote me? My point was to say that while people can dislike a review style they should not question the validity of the review style. If my point has nothing to do with you, then there's no need to quote me. That only creates the appearance of conflict where you are saying there is none.

(In this analogy each creature block is like a day and each indovidual stat within a creature block is like a transaction. It only takes one bad transaction to make the day wrong, and all of those bad days add up.)
All the very minor errors of different monsters "add up"? Uh... no.
I'll bet if the cashier's paycheck was miscalculated every time it would get noticed.
By 1 penny? I'd bet not.
The problem, the biggest mistake, isn't that we were taught how to do the math. The problem is that we are being asked to give money to someone who we know has math skills but just can't seem to be bothered to apply those skills.
That, though, I certainly do agree with.

As much as the concept of the World's Largest Dungeon intrigues me, I don't think I'd have the time to devote to reviewing a work of that size in anything less than a year or so. But yeah, it would probably be interesting.
