Joker pic for Dark Knight

I agree. I very much prefer the various interpretations that make him look actually disfigured, as opposed to just clown-like. This version has a near-perfect combination of both (at least from what we can see so far).

Interesting.

And in line with Nolan's realistic approach to Batman.

Though you can expect diehard comic book geeks to have their knickers in a twist over this. :p

Lousy look. Perhaps it's just a lousy picture. The Joker grins evilly; he doesn't look like a heroin-addicted drag queen. Batman Begins had several glaring flaws (e.g. Katie Holmes) that threatened to (but didn't) ruin the movie. Heath Ledger is already teetering on the brink of being a black mark. Trying to create an "artsy" Joker won't help.

But, of course, it's waaaay too early to say for sure.

People said the same thing of Daniel Craig when he was cast as Bond. Look how he turned out. :)

Exactly my point. Craig's Bond was passable at best. Craig's Bond movie was overlong, dull, contradictory, and sometimes incoherent. Whether its Batman or Bond, it's still formulaic fiction. The reason both have lasted so long is because the formula works. I can appreciate creative types wanting to fiddle with the formula, but most attempts fail in a number of ways directly proportional to how much formula-fiddling is done.

But enough of me criticizing a movie that hasn't even been finished! This thread is about the horrible Joker pic!

:D
