• NOW LIVE! Into the Woods--new character species, eerie monsters, and haunting villains to populate the woodlands of your D&D games.

[July] What are you watching?

Family Guy, sometimes American Dad.

Waiting for the returns of Arrested Development and Monk.

In the meantime, we have a free 60-day trial of Rogers digital cable. Watching reruns of old TV shows including, but not limited to "Batman," "A-Team," and various other game shows.

In movies, nothing. Tom Cruise has scared me away from "The War of the Worlds" due to the crap he's up to now. Mostly re-watching all my movies. My brother bought a few View Askew ones, so I'll be knee-deep in Jay and Silent Bob.

The first movie I got from Netflix was "Returner", which I had seen a trailer for in the movie "Vampire Effect".

I wasn't expecting much, but the trailer looked neat.

But it turned out to be a really really great movie. Not exactly original, it pretty much borrows from the Terminator, Independance Day, the Twilight Zone, The Matrix, and probably a few others (including a bad Mark Hamill movie). But just enjoyable to watch. And the two main characters are really good actors. And the villain is just really really villainous. He'd eat the guy from Die Hard for lunch.

Good dubbing job, too. Usually it's best to turn off the english and just read the subtitles, the voice acting is so bad. But in this, it was pretty good.

I also plan on catching up with Dr. Who (the ones Netflix has) and Space 1999, which is an old show I never watched when it was originally on for some reason.

I've been neglecting them, but did manage to watch Zulu and Clerks in the last couple of days.

I've got Empire and Charlie Jade sitting on my TiVo. Oh, and the entire season of 24. Had to watch season 3 on DVD first, which I'm currently half done. Also have the Clerks X and Hero DVDs waiting to be watched.

I've been watching a good deal of X-Play; it's on all the time. Suppose that's to be expected when it's just about the only decent thing on G4-TechTv.

I also just flipped to Justice League Unlimited last Sunday. I'd seen the first few episodes, which weren't so great, but my DC interest has been up thanks to Batman Begins. Various threads here and elsewhere have been praising JLU and after reading that it was blending Kingdom Come and the Watchmen, I thought it worth another look.

It was well worth it, in my opinion. Plan on following JLU now.

HBO's showing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which I only just saw as of last night. I enjoyed that well enough.

Other than that, the usual sorts of things. Simpsons re-runs, Monty Python. Harry Potter, Shrek 2. Haven't gone to the theater in a while, though I'm looking forward to going out to see Batman.
