What took so long?
I honestly don't know.

Oh, no quiting on this one!
I don't plan on it. The only reason I stopped was because I was up for about 28 hours straight (super long work day and a small dose of insomnia) and had to get some sleep for work eventually. :)

Wait until you get to the Temple of Pandora, if you haven't already, the whole frikkin' level is a puzzle!
Sweet.

A suggestion, focus on beefing up the blades of chaos and the pseidon and hades powers over everything else (I never used the medusa one after getting it and the blade of artemis is rather worthless as well), zeus' power is cheap so it doesn't hurt to beef it up a bit..
Ah, danke. I was thinking of sticking with the blades as much as possible as they are so powerful to begin with. Off to play...

don't stick to them too much, those AoE powers are damn spiffy and come in mighty handy and the lightning bolt power is so cheap there's no reason not to buff it up at least once. Though as long as you collect a reasonable amount of orbs you'll have enough to max out the ones I suggest by the time you get the hades power.

Thanks for the tips. :)

I'm inside Pandora's Temple right now. I think I'm near the end of the Hades level. I love this game. The gameplay is so smooth and engaging. And the overall presentation (story, cutscenes) is fantastic. There is nothing I've encountered so far that has led me away from the action. It feels like it's been polished to perfection.

Okay, enough gushing. There had better be a sequel to this game... :)

Unfortunately I did run into some frame rate issues (poor little PS2), where I could see the screen refreshing, but oddly enough never in a situation where it would cause any problems. Too bad it was an exclusive, the other two systems could have handled it fine.

Also there are some nasty platforming bits that hurt the game a bit, but nothing that really hurts the overwhelming awesomeness.

Oh, I think that's a gimme.

Yeah, I hit a few of those spots as well. I actually thought it was just the prog-scan from my TV but apparantly not.

Yeah, I'm at those right now. A tad annoying but it fits the puzzle theme of the level very well.

I certainly hope so. It would be great to have the sequel be a launch title (or at least come out in the same quarter) for the PS3.

And now that I'm about 6 hours in I can easily say that this is one of the few PS2 games that I would consider Great, as opposed to really good, awesome or what have you. I'm sure there are a few I've missed but the last Great (exclusive) game I played on the PS2 was probably FF-X. Anyone within the age category who ownes a PS2 needs to play this game. It's like Chrono Trigger for the SNES. One last hurrah before the next wave of platforms hits.
