[June] What's got you listening?

Mostly Prog Rock for me still. But I am curious what folks find as good general tabletop and/or RPG (not edition or system specific) podcasts I might discover as interesting this summer?

I used to listen to podcasts from National Geographic, NPR and Scientific American. But that was before I started listening to audiobooks. Now that's 90% of what I listen to, the other 10% being purchased music. I buy about 1 song a year these days. I don't ever listen to the radio any more and so I'm quite unaware of what's going on with music.

Podcasts? No gaming ones, currently. But here's my current list:

  • Astronomy Cast
  • The Empire Podcast
  • Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo Film Reviews (probably the best movie podcast in the world)
  • The Nerdist (depending on the guest)
  • Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (and his previous ones)
  • The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe
  • The Infinite Monkey Cage
  • Do The Right Thing

I haven't been able to take Dr. John's "Locked Down" out of my car's CD changer, and it has been accompanied by a parade of Joe Bonamassa projects. The new Bowie is in there as well, as is the Ben Harper & Charlie Musselwhite album.

Just got the latest from Primus, Alice In Chains and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Shopping for the new albums from Deep Purple, Bat For Lashes, Black Sabbath, Joe Satriani and countless others, like older releases from Charlie Hunter, Jonas Hellborg, Bill Laswell, Soil & Pimp Sessions, and Mokumba.
