As you travel along the road the sweet sounds of a stringed instrument merrily wafts out of the forest. Your pace slows as the ethereal tune draws your attention. You start to smile, your spirits lifted, your feet starting to pick up their pace once again, but this time with an added "spring" and a "step" and a "shuffle".

Without warning, there is a horrid "twang" and a screech, the music suddenly stops. The woods are once again silent save the wind through the trees.

(Of course you'll always get the group that shrugs and says, ahh well, that was lovely music there. Let's move on...)

The musicians are Grig and they are happily waylaying travellers through musical influence in order to steal any alcoholic beverages which the group may be carrying. (They may take potions if it's a potion that they claim looks like it has a "kick" to it.) They are a bit disorganized and constantly arguing over "who gets to play the fiddle".

If the party approaches, they will try to evade, but may be coaxed into speaking. This will of course be another diversion for the opportunistic rogues as the leader converses with the party. They have a wealth of information about the area, however they will be prone to impromptu sets throughout the encounter (with a wild-eyed and enthusiastic cry from the leaders "Hit it boys!"). Throughout, they will persist in their mission to distract PCs and take any beverages that look interesting. The curious folk may consume these on the spot.

If the group figures out the main intent of the creatures and freely offers such beverages they may be invited to a party (the party will take place deep in the woods with a very good chance of the group getting lost and/or crossing a boundary into the Otherworld. At the very least, they will provided a decent rate of information per / flask. If anyone shows an ability to conjure such beverages, they will be regarded with great awe and reverance and the leader will immediately try to hatch a plan to kidnap this PC.
