Yeah, I would have to agree about losing the picture as a background. You could replace the background="" with BGCOLOR="" and chose a cool color from http://www.artistic-designers.com/bkgds/colorchart.html

You could always add the picture on the page with a funny caption like "Austin goes swimming in full Cowboy gear" goes swimming underneath it

I started experimenting with Cascading Style Sheets when I did the front page to the Greatwood campaign. It's really not all that hard to do and makes it a lot easier to change things on the fly later. Also check out Zen Garden for several CSS examples.
