Just played Halo for the first time...

Damn.

I typically don't play FPS (because I stink at them) but this game is just awesome. Yeah, I liked Half-Life. Never finished it but appreciated it. Halo feels like I'm interacting with Aliens, the Cameron film. Space marines rule. I'm only a few hours in and haven't played any multiplayer to this point but I am stunned at the production values and gameplay.

If all FPS are close to this good then I have been missing out.

Thats right, all FPS's are not created equal. Halo is my favorite. I need to reccomend that you play some multiplayer asap, with as many people as possible. Some of my best Halo memories were from 12 player link parties. The single-player is an oscar worthy expierence, but for me, deathmatch is where it's at.

They released it on PC, oh... I want to say last October. Give or take a few months. If you've got a high-end machine, it looks incredibly nice.

I gotta say that the DD5.1 along with the new Sony screen I just got really add to the experience. Anyone know if Halo 2 will be presented in widescreen 16x9?

The PC version is - widescreen capable - so I imagine they'll do so with Halo 2. I know some Xbox games are now.

It's better on the PC... mouse + keyboard > controller

But, I think it looks better on the X-Box and yes, the game is great fun.

When watching the gameplay trailer for Halo 2, the chief grabbed one of the hover craft thingies (forget the name) while it was moving, jumped on behind the driver, and tossed the current occupant off and comandeered it. Nice.
