Justice League 'toon: Starcrossed Pts 1&2 spoilers!

Spoilers of title, so no tags from here on down! Beware!

Since Starcrossed is being aired for a second time here in Brazil, I thought of doing a quick re-cap of what's in it for my fellow ENWorlders... So here goes:

Pt 1.

The Justice League is protecting a world leaders summit in Washington DC when a HUGE spaceship appears out of nowhere, firing and heading to the city. The League has difficulties in slowing the behemoth down (even though Hawkwoman seems very familiar with its technology). At the last moment, an even BIGGER starship (and part of an armada) destroys the first ship. It lands and the League, wary, is there to greet the occupants. As the ship opens, a winged warrior appears. The armada is from Thanagar!

The thanagarian leader, Kalak (iirc), warns the Earth leaders that the Gordanian empire (of New Titans fame) is heading towards Earth. Their spy (Shayera Hol, aka Hawkwoman) informed them that Earth was ill-prepared for that threat, so Thanagar offers to build a massive force field generator to protect Earth. Green Lantern is torn apart by the revelation that Hawkwoman was a spy, but even more so when he learns that Kalak is Shayera's bethrothed.

While Superman, Martian Manhunter, Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkwoman (now in military outfit) help build the generator in the Sahara desert, Batman and Wonder Woman perform an authopsy on a gordanian corpse.

WW: "But what do you know of gordanian physiology?"
Batman: "I know a frozen liver when I see one. The crew was dead before the ship exploded."

So Batman, disguised as one of the Earth emissaries, spies inside the thanagarian mothership, and overhears the transmission where the Thanagarian Leaders (who look like winged Odins) say that the Gordanians are nearing Thanagar, and the plan cannot be delayed. Batman is busted as he warns Wonder Woman. As WW warns Superman and the others through comlink, the Watchtower is invaded, using the codes provided by Hawkwoman. WW is overtaken by several warriors, after battling hard.

On Earth, the Leaguers are attacked by the Thanagarians, who use a kryptonite ray on Superman, a gravity ray on Flash and a big gun on J'onn. GL is knocked on the head by Hawkwoman, after trusting her. The entire defense grid of Earth is disrupted by the Thanagarians.

Pt. 2

Thanagar has taken over Earth and instituted martial law.

The Justice League is bound in a prison ship, with Superman in a red sun cell, WW bound by her own lasso, GL without his ring, etc.

As a guard throws a plate of food at WW's feet, she says "How can I eat like this? No harm must come to us. Come, little man, I won't bite". As the guard leans in to feed her with a knife, she bites him, wraps her legs around his torso, bangs her head on his and grabs the knife with her teeth. She spits the knife at the controls and releases herself. She does most of the battling and releases the League.

With Batman guiding them, they stick to the shadows and head into a department store, where they decide to go incognito.

Flash: "Hey, wait a sec! What about the secret identity thing? I trust you guys, but I'm not comfortable to..."
Batman: "(points at Flash) Wally West. (at Superman) Clark Kent. (removes mask) Bruce Wayne."
Flash: "You're kidding!" (removes hood)
Wonder Woman: "Red hair! It suits you!"

So they split up (Bruce and Diana, Clark and J'onn, John and Wally) and head to Wayne Manor. As thet prevent an attack, Bruce and Diana are pursued by Thanagarians into a full restaurant. They sit in the back and when the Thanagarians enter, Diana grabs Bruce by the head and slaps him a wet one that lasts until the Thanagarians leave.

Diana (embarassed):"Sorry about that."
Bruce (smirking): "My pleasure."

The Leaguers meet at Wayne Manor. Once in the Batcave...

Wally (looking at the robot dinosaur Bruce keeps there): "Hey, a dinosaur!"
Alfred: "I thought Batman was the detective."

To everyone's surprise, Hawkwoman, who's been feeling guilt since she found out the Thanagarian's real plan, appears in the cave (even Bruce is surprised!). She explains to them that Thanagar is building a chain of hyperspace generators in several planets to circumvent the Gordanian Empire defenses and strike them directly. But a side effect is that every planet in the hyperspace chain (like Earth) will be destroyed by the stress. So she gives Bruce the specs. All leaguers, still hurt by her treason, turn their backs as Bruce tells her to get out. Except John, who got a mace on the head the last time he let his guard down. Shayera says she's sorry and gives John a token of her apologies: the Green Lantern Power Ring.

As Hawkwoman leaves Wayne Manor, we get to see the Thanagarian control room, where she was being tracked by the second-in-command, who was sure she would betray Thanagar. He smiles as the Thanagarians prepare an attack on the Justice League at Wayne Manor!

... To be Concluded on May 22nd! :)

Dunno. But Klaus' post says it was showed for the second time in Brazil, so I imagine it was shown in the US a while ago. His post says the second half is due May 22nd.

Starcrossed hasn't been shown in the States yet. It's supposed to be shown on May 29th.

Starcrossed has been aired overseas, but will be released in the US as a movie-length DVD. I'm not sure if they'll air it in the US before or after the DVD release. It all cues into the August release of the new cartoon, Justice League Unlimited.

How odd. It's a US made show, isn't it? Can't be often that other countries see stuff like that first.

England often saw the latter half of seasons of Farscape before the US, which while produced in NZ was made for US TV.

I think it has to do with sweeps months here in the US, which are basically four months out of the year (November, February, May, August) where they look at the ratings and decide on advertising prices. It leads to US television basing their entire season around those months. Since AFAIK England and other countries don't do that, occasionally if a season gets shown simultaneously in both places, England will end up seeing things first. The US networks on the other hand will deliberately delay shows so that season finales occur during May, and that there are always new episodes in November and February... usually resulting in a hiatus for most shows through December and part of January.

Where are you guys getting these dates? Cartoon network's site has "The Enemy Below" part 1 & 2 listed to air on the 23rd and 30th respectivly. I thought Sunday night was the only time JL aired?

Do they also air episodes on Saturday nights?
