Since the season finale "Starcrossed" doesn't show in the U.S. until this Saturday and I want to avoid spoilers, I'm starting a thread here to discuss the "New" series, "Justice League Unilimited".
Here's what I've gathered together so far:
Justice League ends with it's second season, and becomes "Justice League Unlimited" with the third. They gain a new title sequence and more characters, although the entire cast returns. Character additions (no details on how often they'll appear) include the Atom, Supergril, Elongated Man, Captain Atom, Booster Gold, Hawk and Dove, Green Arrow and Blue Beetle, among others (note the picture below).
Episode writers include Warren Ellis (Yes, you read that right) who writes the first Atom episode, J.M. DeMatties doing the second one and Andres Kreisberg (the Simpsons) writes an episode with Booster Gold. They are also adapting an Alan Moore story (with his approval) called "The Man who Has Everything". Series writers Bruce Timm and Dwayne McDuffie return.
Timm's comments seem to indicate that they'll be moving towards more episodes that only focus on a smaller set of characters, such as "Man who has Everything", which only features 'the Big three' (would that be Supes, WW and Bats?). There was also an implication that they'll be doing smaller-scoped stories...which to me means more half-hour stories similar to B:TAS ans S:TAS.
JLU is slated to run at least two seasons. To me, this sounds pretty awesome.
