KahunaCon (Providence area gameday) June 2nd and 3rd!

OK, after much putting-off, I've finally made a decision. My game is going to be The Palace of Plenty (modified from Dungeon Magazine Issue 130), an Oriental Adventures/Book of 9 Swords adventure for 4-6 10th level PCs. In the tradition of Ninja Scroll, the characters are a band of Koge Ninja sent to investigate the Demon-haunted ruins of the Palace of Plenty. Can they uncover the lost secret of the Winter Demons?

Here's a summary for Sunday's game:

"Yesterday’s Cost" -- The crew of the Epsilon Shrike is in the for a fight for their lives after a simple job - picking up some stranded xeno-archaeologists from an uninhabited planet - lands them in the middle of a galactic conflict.
Welcome to Star Drive, the brilliant space opera setting for the Alternity rules system. A cheat sheet intro to the Alternity system and a backgrounder on the Star Drive setting will be available to all players prior to the game. Six players.

Well, I was really hoping to get to preview the new system and that is still a possibility. Amazon has not yet moved the ship date and I've got a pre-order in with them, so it all depends on whether the delay is from WotC due to production issues or if some suppliers got shafted. I have the original d20 Star Wars, or I could run a d20 Modern game. My idea was to run a gritty, sci fi, prison break scenario. If we use star wars, it'll have lightsabers. If we don't use Star Wars, it won't ;). Either way there'll be lots of guns. And explosions, can't forget the explosions :D.

So, does anyone have any preference? Would you rather have Star Wars at all costs? Or would something like d20 Modern + d20 Future be just as good? It's no big loss to me, since I haven't done anything on account of not having the book .

Just got the official word from Amazon. The book has been delayed, so I'll be doing something else. I'm out in San Fran at the moment, so I'll make a decision once more people have chimed in and I've had a chance to look at my books. At the moment I'm leaning towards Modern + Future, but I'm happy to play Star Wars d20 v1.0 if that's what folks want :).
