Kansas City Game Day - A success! Photos on page 12.

Yea, I think it was maybe you, that was telling me that at GenCon. That's pretty neat. I was just thinking how cool it was that an LGS was at GenCon, but then you mentioned that, and I was like "damn, that's impressive."

Kansas City always has a strong presence at Gen Con.

In 2001 I went up with 3 of my buddies and we ran into about 30 ro 40 KC folks while were there. No kidding!

Phil from Table Top of course and Behman and the guys from Collectors Cache had a strong presence there as well.

One of the guys at the Pendragon table is a KC guy also, probably the premiere Arthurian Historian in the metro area, if not the mid west.

Well, not really. Thanks for the bump, though.

I'm thinking at this point, that since we're dealing with numerous unknowns, the main one being how many people would actually attend. Organzing a large-scale con is probably far too risky.

What I'm leaning towards is just moving forward with a small game day at TableTop, probably on a Saturday or Sunday (probably Sunday since some have expressed a desire to do it on a Sunday).

I'd like to set up some time during the game day for anyone with an interest in organizing a much larger con. If it's going to be a reality, I can't do it alone.

I'm leaning towards April 6th (Sunday). Unless we want to try to do it earlier. I figured that'd be a decent date for college students, and it'd be a bit warmer by then.

Thoughts?

April 6th is cool. I'm there. I'm here too, if you need any help organizing or what not.

Any thoughts about making it 2-days? Both Saturday AND Sunday? Or you think that'd be too much?

We have to be sure to get Matt to run or play a game or two, so he has an excuse to stick around late into the evening and we don't have to scoot when the store closes:)

Can we play Round-Robin DM?!

I suppose we could try for two days, though that'd probably be pushing our luck. I believe they said that keeping the store open past business hours was a possibility. I think it all kind of depending on how much good will Phil thought it would be generating, and whether anyone would be purchasing anything after hours in order to justify that.

They don't sell food and pop there, do they? They certainly could, I'm sure...

They don't serve food there, but there is a Dominos, a chinese restaraunt, and soup and sandwich place all within 30 yards of the front door. In the weeknight games I used to run Phil never minded if we bring food/drink in, as long as we cleaned up. Some of us had keys to the game room side of the store. That way, he could lock up the store itself, and we'd just play until we were done in the game room. If Matt or one of the other employees isn't going to be there, I bet I could talk Phil into lending me a key again for any late night gaming/chatting we'd want to do.

Well, I'm in, although I'd prefer Saturday to Sunday, I can't make it to two days or my wife might lynch me. ;)

Curtis, I'd be glad to do anything to help out that you need!
