Can the Kiai Shout feat (from the Complete Warrior) be used to qualify for the Siren prestige class (Savage Species book)?
The Siren prestige class requires the PC/NPC to have an "innate, mind affecting sonic effect"
Kiai Shout enables the character to give a ferocious shout which forces those that hear it (of lesser HD) to make a Will save or be shaken for a number of rounds. The DC is Charisma based.
While Kiai Shout doesn't specify that it is a sonic-based attack or that the attack is a mind-affecting effect, from a practical standpoint it looks like it should. For comparison's sake -- look at the Bay attack / effect of the Yeth Hound.
Any thoughts? I've wondering about this in terms of building an interesting BBEG.
