Further Details
Mirimax have now provided us with the exclusive first details on Kill Bill: Volume One which is directed by movie legend Quentin Tarantino and stars the lovely Uma Thurman. The disc will indeed arrive on the 13th April as we had originally reported, and should set you back somewhere in the region of $29.99. I'm afraid the official press release we have received is a little vague in regard to the extra material. From what I can see, the only extra feature included will be a behind the scenes program hosted with director and writer Quentin Tarantino. Hopefully more features will be announced shortly! Here are the official disc specs that we have so far, and we'll bring you the artwork as soon as it becomes available to us:
2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
English Dolby Digital 5.1 Track
English DTS 5.1 Surround Track
French Language Track
Behind the Scenes Program with Quentin Tarantino
English, Spanish Subtitles

Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, Volume 1 will street on 4/13 (SRP $29.99). The disc will include anamorphic widescreen video (2.35:1), both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, a Behind the Scenes with Quentin Tarantino documentary and additional extras TBA. Interestingly, this DVD release is just 3 days prior to the scheduled release of Kill Bill, Volume 2 into theaters. Our initial information is that this is NOT a special edition release, so it's possible that a more elaborate edition of both films is planned for a later date.

Tarantino told me that we will not be seeing "Kill Bill: Vol. 2" until April instead of the planned February release. "To make that date I would have had to come back from promoting ['Vol. 1'] and go right back into editing," he said. "I had to take a break."
In that time, a DVD for "Vol. 1" will be released with a few extras, namely songs that were cut from the first chapter. "Eventually we're going to have one big DVD with both movies," he said. Other than the songs, though, "Vol. 1" will be a straight-ahead transfer to DVD.
More importantly, Tarantino is pondering more chapters in the series. "I've thought of prequels and sequels," he said. "I had this great idea where we wait five years and come back not with the Bride as the main character, but Vernita's (Vivica A. Fox) daughter as the main character. It would be fifteen years in the future, and the Bride (Uma Thurman) would be in a wheelchair."
Conclusions that you agree with, perhaps, reap. I'm only saying what I suspect Hollywood executives are thinking, and I admit that's pure speculation on my part.reapersaurus said:Any conclusions as to Revolutions failure begin and END with its utter failure to satisfy many of the Matrix fans by not resolving many of the elements of the films.
