I was wondering if anyone has heard when Kill Bill Volume 1 will be out on DVD and when Kill Bill volume 2 will be out in theaters?

Volume 2 has been delayed, I've heard, though I have no news as to why. I suspect the surprisingly poor performance of the third Matrix film has dampened the whole "multi-part" story idea. The thinking is PROBABLY that the third film came out too soon after the second, so that audience anticipation didn't have time to build. In contrast to RotK, which has done very well, but had a full-year gap between it and the previous film.

Couldn't have anything to do with the relative quality of the films, no. :D

That's my bet. DVD? I rather hope they wait until both are out and just release it as one film.

I haven't seen when second one will be released in theaters yet, but Kill Bill Vol. 1 is being released to home video in the States on April 13th this year. As far as what will actually be on the disc, that info hasn't been released yet. I work for a video distributor, and I've been keeping my eye out for this one. ;)

from dvdanswers.com:

Title: Kill Bill: Volume One
Starring: Uma Thurman
Released: 13th April 2004
SRP: $29.99

Further Details
Mirimax have now provided us with the exclusive first details on Kill Bill: Volume One which is directed by movie legend Quentin Tarantino and stars the lovely Uma Thurman. The disc will indeed arrive on the 13th April as we had originally reported, and should set you back somewhere in the region of $29.99. I'm afraid the official press release we have received is a little vague in regard to the extra material. From what I can see, the only extra feature included will be a behind the scenes program hosted with director and writer Quentin Tarantino. Hopefully more features will be announced shortly! Here are the official disc specs that we have so far, and we'll bring you the artwork as soon as it becomes available to us:

2.35:1 Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
English Dolby Digital 5.1 Track
English DTS 5.1 Surround Track
French Language Track
Behind the Scenes Program with Quentin Tarantino
English, Spanish Subtitles

And barsoom - any conclusions as to Revolutions failure begin and END with its utter failure to satisfy many of the Matrix fans by not resolving many of the elements of the films.

Reaper beat me, but here's what www.TheDigitalBits.com has listed:

Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, Volume 1 will street on 4/13 (SRP $29.99). The disc will include anamorphic widescreen video (2.35:1), both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 audio, a Behind the Scenes with Quentin Tarantino documentary and additional extras TBA. Interestingly, this DVD release is just 3 days prior to the scheduled release of Kill Bill, Volume 2 into theaters. Our initial information is that this is NOT a special edition release, so it's possible that a more elaborate edition of both films is planned for a later date.

From FoxNews.com yesterday:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tarantino told me that we will not be seeing "Kill Bill: Vol. 2" until April instead of the planned February release. "To make that date I would have had to come back from promoting ['Vol. 1'] and go right back into editing," he said. "I had to take a break."

In that time, a DVD for "Vol. 1" will be released with a few extras, namely songs that were cut from the first chapter. "Eventually we're going to have one big DVD with both movies," he said. Other than the songs, though, "Vol. 1" will be a straight-ahead transfer to DVD.

More importantly, Tarantino is pondering more chapters in the series. "I've thought of prequels and sequels," he said. "I had this great idea where we wait five years and come back not with the Bride as the main character, but Vernita's (Vivica A. Fox) daughter as the main character. It would be fifteen years in the future, and the Bride (Uma Thurman) would be in a wheelchair."

So we might get 'Kill Bride Vol. 1' sometime in the future? Funny. :p

Conclusions that you agree with, perhaps, reap. I'm only saying what I suspect Hollywood executives are thinking, and I admit that's pure speculation on my part.

There's not much evidence to suggest they think at all...

This just in at www.thedigitalbits.com:

Kill Bill Volume 1 will be further broken up and released on three thirty minute DVD's, sold separately.

When asked why Tarantino responded, "Because we know a lot of people are only going to want the Gogo sequence, and after further reflection we decided its just too intense of a first half to watch all at once at home."
