Nothing that a simple label or piece of tape wouldn't cure.
After all, most TV's you want to kill are the variety that stay on 24-7, and get one channel or piped feed, so all the Best-buys, etc. have to do is block the IR port.
It strikes me as a particularly churlish kind of device, personally. I'd rather either leave, or ask someone to turn it off, rather than be the group conscious for a public place.
