Killed a god

As others have stated, it's entirely up to the DM. Certain campaign settings presume certain things about the gods, but those differ from one to the next. Forgotten Realms makes them out to be fairly mortal, and killable in a fight, whereas the existence of Eberron's gods isn't even known for sure, much less how mortal they may be.

Generally speaking, I go with the "A god is the manifestation of a concept; if that concept still exists, so does the god." To kill the god of honor would require to entirely obliterate the concept of honor altogether.

The mortality of a god is just as varied as what defines a god from one religion to the next. Norse mythology makes them fairly mortal, but a number of modern day religions possess omnipotent, omniscient deities where not only can the deity not be killed, but it's more or less impossible to inconvenience the god in any way whatsoever.

So the answer on whether or not a god can be killed is a definitive "Maybe." Even official D&D worlds differ from one to the next, thank goodness.
