OOC: What kind of check would opening and resealing a letter come under? Saul is currently trying to gauge the odds of his success.

You would use the Avoid Traps or Advanced Repair skill. It is set Very Difficult (Target number 12) because seals of this type were specifically invented to indicate tampering of a confidential note.

As you do not have these skills you will have to use Intelligence at half rounding down (ie: 0) You will not be told if you were successful in this act unless you fail AND an NPC tells you you failed.

You know of the mechanically talented kinds known as Technologistes or sneaky Rogues who may be skilled better in this sort of devious act.

Eyes the proceedings warily but the better part of her experience tells her that this is not her fight anyway and so she continues on with the woman, though if reluctantly.

Skips ahead to try and take the elbow of the blonde lightly as she is lead along.

Saul gave up. He had no talent for such things and the waxen seal had seen through his bluff.

"You are indeed a worthy opponent," he tells the letter as he slips it into his coat.

After collecting a few items normally required for a day about town Saul set out for the Lion's Proper Inn.
