I go for taking their stuff. Killing things has instrumental value, as it is only done in order to take their stuff later, but taking their stuff is the big payoff. So I guess taking their stuff has instrinsic value, and if there were no things to kill I wouldn't be that put out as long as there were other ways to acquire bigger, better stuff later.

Also, if you took away the killing of things, I'd still like to take stuff. But without taking stuff, killing things would become boring and repetitive. What challenge or fun would there be in that?

;) :p

I feel like I am gazing across an unbridgable chasm, at a viewpoint that is expressed in an alien language, yet a viewpoint that, were I to more fully comprehend it, I would be forced to respect, if not agree with. :)

This is totally a woman kind of answer, but stuff stuff stuff!! 'Cuz in D&D you can just take it and no one will accuse you of shoplifting. ;)

Of course, killing things so they can't come after you when you take their stuff is also good.

Take their stuff. It's all about taking their stuff and wearing it when you have them over for dinner that weekend. ;)

But heck, it's more satisfying to screw their plans over than it is to kill them -or- to take their stuff.
