Anyone see this last night? I really wanted to like it, but after about an hour and a half, decided that I'd wasted enough time on it and went to bed.
ABC, Wednesday night at 9:00 EST. I doubt it's a remake of any mini-series from Denmark, as it is essentially the story of story of Stephen King being hit by a hit and run driver, but with the names and serial numbers filed off and some really cheesy supernatural ant-eater wandering around the hospital.Villano said:I missed it. On what channel and time did it air?
BTW, why is it called Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital? Isn't this a remake of a mini-series that aired in Denmark? King just rewrote the script as far as I know. Sheesh, it's like retitling Dream Works' remake of Ringu as Stephen Spielberg's The Ring. :\
Hey, I dig the anteater.Joshua Dyal said:ABC, Wednesday night at 9:00 EST. It actually is a remake of a Danish tv show. But greatly expanded. From The Hollywood Reporter :Joshua Dyal said:I doubt it's a remake of any mini-series from Denmark,
King himself developed the series and wrote the pilot, which is based on the Danish miniseries "The Kingdom."

Very true. Most of King's novels that were translated to TV in the past have not been so great. I think IT was the biggest disappointment for me. Kingdom Hospital's premier could have been made a little more interesting in parts, but at the same time, it is Stephen King, so I'll continue to give it a chance until it has proven itself unworthy, which it hasn't yet, for me at least.Mark Chance said:Any premier episode of a series during which I fall asleep slightly more than half way through it won't be on my must-watch list. I enjoy Stephen King's fiction, but just about everything he has written for TV or the big screen is exceedingly dull. IMO, he just doesn't understand that the pacing acceptable to an 800-page novel doesn't work in film, especially when interrupted every 10-15 minutes by commercials for toilet paper and prescription drugs.
