ROUNDABOUT CAMPAIGN
Our last online meeting had several folks missing, so I am going to handle the initial stuff here on the messageboards. We can all discuss them here for now. There are several different items we need to get arranged. As soon as that is done we can START PLAYING!
1. Characters
We will all start with 1st level characters. As you come up with your character idea, post a synopsis here and send me an email with the standard character sheet. I will then be able to post the full sheet on the website.
Use the 32-point buy system for characters as detailed in the T13K guide. The campaign will be set in Kinrisar, but characters do not necessarily need to be from there.
2. DM Rotations
Each DM will be able to design a scenario that can last for one or more sessions. I would suggest that the most an adventure is planned to run for is 3 sessions. That way we can keep up with the DM rotation and a single DM does not have to run too many games.
3. First Session
I would like to target the first session to occur sometime in mid-November. That should give us enough time to get characters made and the DM of the first session to get an adventure ready.
4. Treasure / Magic Items
We should follow the Character Wealth by Level table on p.135 of the DMGv3.5 as a guide for treasure distribution. No single item awarded should be more than 50% of a single character’s wealth. That will set a limit on values of extraordinary and magic items as well. Within those guidelines, anything is fair.
5. Website
I will be setting up a website for the campaign. The URL will be:
http://www.the13kingdoms.org/Roundabout/Index.html
6. “Living” Aspect
The 13 Kingdoms is an interactive setting in which the activities of each of the players and campaigns can become a part of the history of the setting. As our PC’s interact with NPC’s and gain fame they will become known in Kinrisar and a part of the kingdom’s history.
Important NPC’s can be placed within the campaign as well. Since I am the CM of Kinrisar that will make things easy and somewhat complex. It will be up to me to remain “in character” when dealing with an NPC that I may have special knowledge about as the CM.
