Knight using new Wild Cohort etc...

I read the wild cohort feat on the Wizards sight, and initiatlly thought it was way overpowered, but now it seems pretty decent. Makes for a powerful cohort but definatly not more so than a real cohort that could be a wizard or cleric! Anyway, I figured you could make a great Knight if you picked a heavy warhorse for your mounted cohort.

Here he is without magic items (Our DM generally gives us about 1/4 the recomended magic items to start yet we are in the Realms! Guess we are all good powergamers)

Level 14 in our current campaign, and yes I always break down almost all the stat values, makes sure I'm not adding stuff up wrong, and makes leveling up really quick.

Not sure if I should take the Coordinated strike feat. It really compliments the mounted combat, but he would be doing more of the ride by attacks than sitting there dishing it out.

Just because it is slightly less abusive than leadership does not make it balanced. Leadership is, by far, the *most* powerful feat out there in any WotC product. This feat is high in the next tier. I will not allow it in my games. If a PC wants to have an animal companion, they can become a druid or ranger. If they want a pet, they can buy a creature trained with handle animal.

I've never understood why they'd let a role playing driven relationship (between a PC and a cohort) be controlled by a feat, anyways.

You can't have a heavy warhorse, you can have a light or heavy standard horse. There is no heavy warhorse on the druid animal companion list or the wild cohort animal list. The best you can get is a heavy horse trained for war.
