Knowledge (architecture & engineering)--who actually has it as a class skill?

OK, so we have a skill that only a scant few can take.

Bards
Wizards

Who else? Anyone out there who actually has Search as a class skill (and can thus benefit from the synergy bonus)?

You only need the 5 ranks in one skill to get a synergy bonus in the other skill.

5 ranks knowledge - Architecture/engineering gives you a +2 on search checks to find a secret door; even if you have no ranks in search (elven wizard appreciates this)

That's true, you can get synergy bonuses to skills you kinda stink at in order to stink a little bit less.

Let's say "Anyone out there who actually has Search as a class skill (and can thus really benefit from the synergy bonus)?".

I once had a Player who wanted to play a medieval 'Civil Engineer' (who was a civil engineer by trade too) so he took levels of expert including this skill

adventures included doing repairs to the city walls, exploring the sewers, excavating a newly discovered buried ruin, reinforcing a fortified pass, infiltrating an enemy castle and stealing their 'god', blowing up a bridge and rebuilding a city (where the governor gave him the office of Chartered City Engineer)

I think it works better the other way round - 10 skill points in Knowledge (architecture and engineering) as a cross-class skill gets you 5 ranks and the synergy bonus to your Search class skill.

There are also multiclassed characters (rogue/wizards, for example), prestige classes (arcane trickster, and interestingly enough, archmage and dragon disciple), non-core classes (the factotum definitely, and probably the spellthief too), and characters with (non-core) feats like Education, which makes all Knowledge skills class skills.

I just haven't seen that skill really get used to any significant effect. How have you seen Knowledge (A&E) used to good and useful effect in game?

It would be helpful to deal with a certain bridge in RHoD...
