I like that critter - it shows "exception-based design" very well - this kobold is a real mob creature - and kobolds should be that way!

Cheers, LT.

Stronger than expected.

But why the trap sense? To quote all the "Monsters need no stinking out of combat abilities" supporters this ability does not affect combat and only clutters the statblock which makes it complex and hard to read which slows down the game.

Ignoring the sarcastic tone...

From the way it's been described, traps are designed to be very much a part of combat in 4e. It's all part of the dynamic encounter model.

Because traps are now part of combat.

Maybe there is more in the actual kobold description that ties into traps and trapmaking?

lol yeah. The only thing you will have to ignore is the bloodied condition (unless someone posts from exp and lets us know how it works)

I expect kobold-lairs to be trapped more severely than Bridget (4chan-joke, don't worry if you don't get it).

With all this pushing, pulling, and sliding that's going on I bet the kobolds learned really quickly how to avoid such dangers. Didn't we just last week see how an elven rogue killed a monster by kicking it into a trap?
