[KoK] Monster list for upcoming book

Eric Noah's post on what wasn't included in the Fiend Folio made me think that some people might be interested to see what's going to be in the Kingdoms of Kalamar monster book, Dangerous Denizens (barring any last-minute additions or cuts).

One thing I tried to do when assigning art was to make sure that almost all the monsters are in action, not just posing for the camera, and have something/someone in the picture so the creature's size is immediately obvious. Each critter will also include a small map showing its region - I'm hoping to include a list by region as one of the appendices as well. Fuller details about the creature's region, ecology, and so on are detailed in the text as well, of course.

You'll notice there are a lot of common animals found in the WotC Monster Manual as well. These aren't duplicated in Dangerous Denizens, but additional information was given about them to hopefully make them more useful, as well as KoK-specific notes.

And that's why you guys rule...

I'll be buying this, just like all the other KoK stuff... but I'm not too sure if I like the idea that space is being taken up for stats for ducks and chickens. I hope yo udidn't waste any money on the art for them....

Cheers

Dang! I gotta get me a Racing Camel, a Trained Pack Goat and a Saaniemian War Dog. Me & my oh-so-cool menagerie will strike fear into the hearts of evil doers throughout Tellene!

I am so going to buy this book. It sounds excellent, like all the other Kalamar books have been.:)

Some of the material looks like it's appeared before. I think that the aquatic tarrasque for example was in the Tombs module. This should be an interesting book. Is this one still being done by the Troll Lords or ?

Sorry if this has already been answered, but whats the planned release date for this book?

Also, how compatible/generic will it be for use outside of the Kalamar setting?

Thanx.

No worries - the extremely common birds like ducks and chickens only have approximately 100 words, and no full stat blocks - they're listed with just an HP of 1 or 2, usually.
