Kord the Controller (Godsworn Rogue)

First Post
Never thought that Rogues and Religeon would mix, well think again, for here is the High Rolling Half Elf Controller Rogue.

Twin Strike Delante (spelt wrong) with Daggermaster PP and M/C Avenger.
Think Crit fishing maximising the amount of targets you can roll a D20 at.

And now thanks to the new Dragon (mag 383) I think, there is a new feat called "Godsworn" that has a crit feature for Kord, of push targets your Dex mod, which is about 7 or 8 squares.

Chuck in Surprise knockdown and you can knock prone and push away enemy a very long way on a crit.

I think the single target take down capacity of the brutal rogue actually fits in quite nicely with the nature of the avenger, religous kord nutter that he is.

"Never thought that Rogues and Religion would mix" Until they came out with this totally exploitable feat that I can jam into my broken build.

Ok sorry bout that.

But I do like the feat idea, id like more conditions that occur on crits. Im just not a huge fan of crit-fishing builds because they seem... idk the word, cheap?

It's not the Rogues and Religion that mix, it is the Daggermaster PP and Avenger Oath that mix.

For the record, even in 3.5 I *loved* the idea of a church sanctioned rogue, and one guy in our group played a Rich Berlew created Rogue variant-thing (on the OOTS website at the time, maybe still) that was kind of a mashup. I have in my arsenal of backup characters a Halfling Cleric\MC Rogue who is a Cleric of his chosen religion (depending on setting). A former street rat who uses his skills gained in the world to right wrongs and rededicate tombs.

NO, you aint sorry so dont even try.

Whats broken about mixing lots of attacks with a high crit range, if you go daggermaster surely you wants lots of minor action attack, area attacks and if your half elf why shouldnt you use your racial ability to pick another at-will that suits your PP.

My Half Elf was created before Vers. Mastery came out, or Avengers.
PLus after being a slave and an outcast prev. he has a very vengeful nature.
He likes matching his skills against others so naturally has Kord religeon.

If the Godsworn feat happened to be extra Dex damage then yes that would really be maxing damage and poss brocken,

But I think its quite cool it ended up being a push 6 to 8 squares, making the Rogue a Religeous Controller.

Maybe the flavour is not there for you but it tastes good to me.

Besides the "High Rolling" which is lots of dice to roll with all attck you get to do, but pushing enemy around is fun too.

1. Thanks for deciding how I feel.

2. Having mechanical parts require a certain deity does not make the flavor better. There is a fighter in my party more devoted to his deity then the paladin. Just because the paladin has a feat that requires he be a divine class of his diety doesn't mean he's more devoted to it.

3. This changes NOTHING about the flavor of religious rogues. It provides an immense mechanical benefit for claiming a certain deity.

4. Broken may = fun for you. But what about the rest of your group, most reasonably the controller who now finds the striker with unreasonably more powerful pushes than he has access to.

Rogues can be just as well mixed with religion as before. Mechanics don't dictate flavor.

.

No worries, thought you needed some help.

Flavour went out the window when they decided that magical thrown weapons returned to your hand and you could do Blast 5 area attacks armed so.

Thats unsavoury but you have to make do within the parametres of the rules.

If I see you being a jackass one more time, Flipguarder, I'm going to ban you for a couple weeks.

True, though Pursuit Avenger uses Dex, which means you *can* use rogue stuff with it fairly easily if you want. Heck, my Avenger MCed into rogue for Thievery training, since we needed someone to cover such things.

And, hrm, yes, the Godsworn Avalanche feat does synergize nicely. Though there will, of course, be times that you won't want to push people around, as it can screw over other members of your party due to position changes.

The level 9 daily would synergize nicely, too, as adding damage to Twin Strike is a win.
