Kre-O D&D details emerge

Looks like it'll be part a simple battle system and build sets. Also there will be collectable blind packs of single mini-figs.

If they do this right, they could take a serious chunk out of Warhammer's market by being the low-end high-value alternative.

Warhammer does have nice minis though, and it also has brand name recognition along with history.

They should have tried to do this with real Lego. Kre-O sucks big time in comparison.

Kre-O is just Hasbro not wanting to license their own toy lines out to competitors - neither Lego or Megablock. It makes sense ("hey, we make toys, why don't we make our own building-block toy sets based on our toy lines?"), but I'm not sure I agree with it - as you said, Lego strikes me as a much higher quality block-building company.
