"Krypton" - new TV show being developed

Ok, I am not all too familiar with DC/Superman, but didn't the Kryptonians not have any superpowers at all because their sun is the "wrong" color or something? If yes, what exactly will the series be about?

Its not always clear some depictions of Krypton have given them all powers whereas others link their powers to the colour of different Stars.

However overall Kryptonians appear to be naturally stronger, faster and more intelligent than humans. Also part of Kryptons advance crystal technology involved utilising directed stellar radiation on a cellular level, with light from quasars etc giving powers.

I suppose if we have Jor-El as a Crystal-tec scientist and Major Zod as a rising military leader then they could see a utilisation of crystal-tech to enhance their natural abilities. We'll definitely see the advanced AI that becomes Braniac.

and hopefully lots of bug-dragons

EDIT: and yeah like Morrus said, its all speculation since all we have is a title...

As I recall, Kryptonians only have super powers under the radiation of suns that are not red. However, they have super-high tech. This means they could have a police force where even the rookies have the equivalent power of a bargain-basement Iron Man.

I predict it will be kind of a mix of something like the Zod/Jor-El plot, a bit of Caprica or the like. Some Utopia/Dystopia storylines (Brave New World, 1984, THX-1138, etc.). Maybe even a pre-Armageddon vigilante or two.

It could be the title of the Supergirl series they're doing.

hehe I've just had the image of Kara and Cher Horowitz going on a shopping spree at Krytons largest mall - Krypton: a teen comedy as popular girl Kara Zor-El comes to terms with the destruction of Argo city.

Works for me! I'd swap 10 superhero shoes for 100 reality shows any time! Some will sink and some will swim.

Now we need to add 10 fantasy shows and 10 good sci-fi shows. Out of those 30, I'm sure I can find a handful I'd watch!

The problem isn't necessarily the overall number of such programmes, but what that inevitably brings; crap. When Hollywood starts kicking money into crap projects and they fail rather than look at what went wrong, they just assume that a given genre is played out and then stop making ANYTHING of the sort. It's that, that worries me.

Better hope they're not all crap then, I guess. I usually hope stuff will be good by default, so that's no change for me.
