L4W Discussion Thread V

there shouldn't be..or what would be the point of a secure die rolling function..dont' like the roll, take it back and re-roll.

just edit your post, say the 1st roll was bad (and why), and add another roll.

I'd like to ask the folks involved in the L4W Kingmaker going on, how's it working out? What kind of experience are you guys having (positive, negative, just weird)?

And do you think it would work to have multiple parties in separate instances of the module in the same living world?

Testing the dice roller.

So is there anyway for a player to take back a dice roll once it's made? I don't see any (which is what I am hoping for!).

Also, you can see all dice roll of a player by going on his personal profil, which mean even if a mod erase the post, you would still see the roll on his personal profile. So if you don't trust a moderator, there is even a way to see it.

The two annoying thing I find with that dice roller:

1) You need to post then roll, so you may need to edit your message.
2) When you reply, you don't see the rolls, which as a DM, is seldom annoying and need to have the thread open in another window.

Well most of they players don't frequent the general threads I'll answer from a DM perspective. I'm enjoying it so far but we've barely got into the adventure proper as we has a decent amount of RP and a couple impomptu skill challenges tbefore Oleg's. After the current encounter they'll likely be a bit more into the exploration mode. As for running another instance that should be fine (atleast IMO) as there could easily be another land in need of a king/queen.

That sounds right, Luinnar. But for existing characters, it is a choice rather than a straight-up errata: you may choose the new power, but you don't have to. It sounds more appropriate to retraining between levels.

On a similar note, I was thinking about the new bonuses to stats for a lot of the races. I wonder if it would make sense to allow L4W characters to switch to a new bonus stat, perhaps as part of retraining for a level? With my tiefling paladin, for example, +2 Con would be more useful than the +2 Int that was available when I made the character.

Thanks :)

I did make a proposal to allow current characters to switch out powers and ability scores, but so far it did not get any votes because of all the rules changes not being updated yet. (Dwarf Second Wind is now an encounter, and this is still not in the rules update for example)

I would like to see about getting another group started - I really like the looks of this path, and would be willing to play just about any roll.

Can you trade partial DM credits, like 1/3rd of one or something? Or do you have to use the whole credit? I have 3, and my sorcerer need less than 100 xp to get to level 4, and also I would like to use the rest to give to my Avenger for gold to buy some armor.
