LA+0 Drow

I think the idea of a couple (or more) drow paragon levels is very good, and actually brings me back to the old days when drow were presented... they were all at least level 2 if I remember correctly. That extra level would be a Paragon level in this incarnation.

Player characters created could choose whether or not to pursue the paragon levels, mostly based upon their contact with the Drow culture. Some role-play or campaign requirements of 'must have contact, or be trained in' the drow cultural ways to acquire the paragon levels.

Very nice idea. Personally, I would like virtually all races reduced to their +0 LA equivalent so that they can be used for players/npcs of any level. On another tangent but slightly related, I wish that races could be built with abilities that scale with their Character Level to allow re-constructing all the races like Mind Flayers, Celestials, Fiends, etc. into +0 LA varieties that gain their powers slowly over time - but also may pursue the traditional class levels without undue trouble.

Or, you could just use the Elf from the PHB.

"Hi, I'm an Elf. I'm pitch black with white hair."

"Oh, must be a drow."
I suppose giving them SR and the sunlight vulnerability doesn't balance, right?
