From elsewhere...

Mudlurker Skyboars = flying pigs

The Doomspeaker Raptorling = Chicken Little

Acephalous Velociraptorling = a chicken running around with its head cut off...

Fighter: Fighting Man
Wizard: Magic-User

;)

Ok, How about these (some are made up)?

Paladin: Lawbringer
Kobold: Dragonbornling
Bullywug: Bullywug (isn't the original silly enough?), or Frogjaw
Monk: Kungfuguy
Warforged Wardens: Transformer, or Treesformer, or Warforden
Angel: Godguard (or Divine Postman)
Shifter: Wereman
Hafling: Divided into 2 types, Halfulling, Halfemptyling
Tiefling: Devulcan (Take that as a play on devilkin, Devil Vulcan, or da' vulcan, whatever makes you happy).
Deva: Replace them with Diva, and they are restricted to Bard class.

Just a thought...

Let's not just redescribe classic monsters & classes in that "4Ed style", lets take a stab at what a similar naming convention would mean in other genres of RPGS...

Like a Modern campaign!

Pimp = Blingstyle Ho-Runner.

Or Sci-Fi

Space Marine = Starblack Shocktrooper

Or Mythos

Dabbling Neophyte Wizard = Futuresnack MadScholar
