It looks like a large group of the minis are for RuneQuest.
They have some very amusing animal warriors.. And some very evil looking pig men. Gannon, anyone?

Glorantha anyway. I love the fact that they have a Disney-esque approach to the Ducks rather than the more realistic version presented in Mongoose RQ.

Thanks, that's cool. :)

It's been ... hmm, 17 years since I was last in Bergen, but I think of it as a D&Dish city. Docks, Hanseatic buildings, mountains, forest . . . yeah for Norway! ;)

That's nice to hear. Thanks! :)

As to Bergen being a D&D-ish city, I guess I could see that:

I am severely underwhelmed by the apparent quality of those minis, as far as I can see tell from the photographs. They are rather archaic in form, and remind me of some of the cheaper minis I used to run across twenty-five, thirty years ago or more.

That's because a lot of the L&L fantasy miniatures are from the old days. Most of the Sandra Garrity minis are re-issues of stuff she did for other companies.

Interesting!

I had to google her and came up with this interview

Of course, if you already have piles and piles of old-fashion true 25mm figures, buying figures in that scale makes a lot of sense... those are some pretty cool Thouls. I'll have to check those out at Gen Con.

EDIT: Of course, now that I look at the individual entries, I note that the Afridhi are described as being 30 mm tall... and being humans, that means the scale is Modern Heroic 30 mm, not Classic True 25mm. Damn...

I picked up a bunch of the Blackmoor minis (Afridhi, Thouls) and some of the Runequest to use as various Wilderlands races (Ngyauck in particular) a few years back at Gen Con. They are nice guys, the minis are well sculpted. The more recent Blackmoor line is on scale with current minis (a le Reaper, DDM etc.) but the older stuff is 25 mm the scale of minis back in the 80's when I started buying them.
