Here are some video`s taken at drachenfest 2001. (this years video`s aren`t released yet) This event is very massive and is the second largest larpevent in europe. this year there were around 2500 people. On this event there are not many npc`s (around 30)and most action is between players themselves and the groups they belong to. I gladly will answer other question you will have.

I have yet to look at the Drachenfest one, but the first one there left me cold.

What kind of combat resolution do you use?

It looks a bit confusing on the surface, if multiple hits are required to take out a combatant.

No more than SCA combat, mind you.

In drachenfest they have a systeem that you start 2 hitpionts on your whole body. This increases with armor. They also count different types of armor. I think fullplate with a helmet gives 13 hitpionts on your whole body. this can be futher increased by so called rankcards. to a maxium of 10. These can be given by the game masters for good roleplaying or bravery and such. To have more rankcards then 1 or 2 is extreemly rare. most people have none. Wizards may wear nothing more the leather armor.
