I'm making a lasher, and I was just wondering, does whiplash allow you to flank?

The lasher can make attacks of opportunity with his whip or whip dagger against foes within 5 ft. as if it were a melee weapon.

I noticed it doesn't say that he "threatens" just that he can make attacks of oppurtunity.
I think he should be able to flank, but that isn't what teh rule says, right??

I allowed him to flank and it worked well.

hes using a normal whip and It's just fun, especially with wounding

Yeah, I say if the guy can counter AOO then he definately can threaten an enemy enought to flank.

Also another thing you might wanna bring to your DM, if you look at the Errata for S&F it states that you get sneak attack damage when you flank. Of course I'd rule that you can only fla when with 5 ft of the target, not the range of the whip.
Another thing you might wanna consider for lasher goodness, be sure to get a whip of distance, nothing like being able to hit things from 30 feet (still in range of Point Blank Shot and Sneak attack too).

I was irked to figure out that without precise shot, you're at -4 to hit with a whip when anyone else is attacking the same opponent. Drat!

Well, I know what my next feat is going to be....

heheh, that's why I made sure to have that, my feats at lv 5 are (I'm human)
weapon prof whip
weapon foc whip
point blank shot
precise shot
rapid shot
and brachiation (my DM gave me a deal of the weapon prof, no more heavy armor)
