lasherness

Not much to disagree with here, but the BAB is just one of the perks of being a fighter as are the bonus feats. Besides, if you are making a character who specializes in the Spiked Chain, you aren't going to take those feats on the MoC List?

Expertise, Improved Trip, and Improved Disarm? Probably not. I'd definitely go power attack, cleave, and great cleave, since you get extra attacks at low levels where they mean a lot more (i.e. one extra attack doubles the number you get in a round) and later on they can be very useful at clearing out rooms of weenies (especially with the 10' reach).

I won't disagree that the Master of Chains class is as powerful as the Lasher. I do think it would be worthwhile to compare the Lasher with some of the other Weapon Eccentric Prestige Classes (Order of the Bow and Weapon's Master specificially).

I think that with a mighty whip dagger, the lasher is more powerful than either of those prestige classes. They're a lot closer to lasher than MoC though, so I guess you have a point.

Besides the Master of Chains is really more of a villian NPC, the majority of its special abilities are tied to the environment where as the Lasher are tied to the weapon.

That's actually a very good point. I mean, even choosing the environment to have lots of chains, it's not that great a class, but it does make it significantly better. Ok, I guess I can go with that and be content. I just think they should have dropped several feats and give the MoC a BAB requirement. I mean, 6 feats is a crapload, and while none of them are completely useless (unlike toughness or endurance), half of them are definitely substandard (I mean really, how often do fighters use Expertise?).

The funny thing is, in the campaign I'm in with the lasher, we all laughed at his choice at first, but then after the first fight or two we were like "Holy crap!" :)

And of course I'm playing a rogue who wields a spiked chain with great cleave, and I thought I was going to be all bad@ss cheezy, and the Lasher comes along and makes me look like a single class ranger. It's actually kinda funny. :)

Well I think alot of that stems from the Whip Dagger and/or Mighty Whips. It really is a cheesy weapon. It basically gives you a 15 ft reach short sword. If you remove that from equation, it really balances out the Prestige class.
Second, you seem to have left out the hardest requirement for the Lasher class, +5BAB. That means you won't reach that class til at least 6th Level. It is possible to get the MoC by 5th Level (Human Ftr4 meets all the requirements).

I agree the Whip dagger is a good weapon, BUT Lasher's ONLY threaten 5' NOT 15'

If it did threaten 15' that would be disguisting and far beyond cheesy.

I never said it threatened 15' (as in Attacks of Oppurtunity) but you can hit targets within 15' of you for normal attacks.
