Somehow I don't think we'll be paying the $5k to release it under the GSL as a 4e product (unless WotC decide to grant us an exemption - hint, hint!), so it will remain OGL. :D

I thought Fire and Brimstone was 'compatable with every RPG edition'....?

Does this move allow saves normally? Or do they just have a save when the move would be lethal?
How wonderful arbitrary.

The way it appeared was that you only got a save if the move would be lethal. I suspect that if you didn't want to be moved under other circumstances you could probably ask for a save at any time, because the penalty for succeeding is to fall prone instead. I'd prefer to be moved, standing up, under most circumstances thanks.

Man, it's not looking good for my red dragons to rise from the lava, surrounded by magma elemental minions. :(

Well, as someone who's actually read the 'Fire and Brimstone' rules: If you fall into lava and you're immune to fire, you don't die.

So, I'm going to take a guess here... if the 4e team liked 'Fire and Brimstone', I'm pretty sure they'd be including *all* the rules from it.. not just the "Fall in and die with no save".

I don't get this, but then again, I've never been one to toss aside an awesome scene or narrative device simply because some player might whine about how it's impossible for him to come out of lava, since he's not immune.

Story and cinematic flair take precedent over whining rules lawyers.

.

Except red dragons won't be immune to fire anymore in 4E nearly nothing will be except maybe the god of fire.

And then explain how you can still damage a red dragon with fireballs...

I don't. My players probably wouldn't try fire effects, and if they did, then they'd learn they have some limited effect on dragons. If someone wants to find out why, they can try researching it, and find a number of theories, any of which could be correct. None of my players would care, because they'd be too psyched about kicking a dragon's ass, and be figuring out what to do with it's hoard.

Well, not everyone is "blessed" by players who ignore things like internal logic.

In that circumstance my players would try disbelieving the illusion, they know I'm obsessive about internal logic.

Or they would if it weren't for the fact that this is one of the many things I will be house-ruling should I ever decide to run D&D 4e.
