What is he doing as Captain that is causing you issues? From the sound of it, you seem to be having problems with the title and not any actions he's done. If he HAS done something that's given you pause, you need to explain what it is.

This is the main problem I'm having addressing this issue. You haven't given any examples of actions the Captain PC has done to warrant 'outing' him before the crew. Don't get me wrong - I really like the sort of low level conflict that is brewing here and it seems perfectly in line with the alignments in question on both sides. I am very interested to hear more about the specifics though.

Well, we've heard about at least one specific action.

Apparently the party as a whole decided that the crew would have to go through some sort of screening process. (Detection from Evil? Testimony under Zone of Truth?) The Captain stated, using his authority as Captain, that the First Mate (an NPC) did not have to undergo said screening process.
