Leaving ENworld at last

I'm sorry to hear that you feel forced out of the forum. I will admit (even if I'm a nobody :p ) that I've been reading and posting a lot less of late. Partly it's because I'm still running 3E for the moment (I'm not keen on trying to convert a four year campaign over!) so some of the 4E rules chatter is purely academic to me; partly it's because the 3E/4E sniping was boring before the game was even out, and now it's pretty firmly entrenched with people unable to shut up about their view; partly because I've also found the boards agonisingly slow on occasions (though this is something the mods seem to be fighting back against)

As others say, though, things may loop round again, and perhaps in time the 3E/4E bitching will cease and things will become mellow again. These things tend to come in waves, and eventually bannings and boredom will dipose of much of the problem.

I am sorry to see you go.

We have not really interacted much, but I have really come to appreciate and respect your posts.

I hope that you will be back to us some day.

Good luck! :)

I'm more of a lurker than a poster (my join date and post count will attest to that), but I've enjoyed some of your posts and I can remember if I turned you onto Transhuman Space or if it was the other way around.

Both sides claim moderator bias because the moderation can be touch and go at times. I've seen BLATENTLY insulting posts go by several times, aimed at both sides, only to find that the person reporting those insulting posts is the one banned from the thread.

How do you know who is reporting threads?

I must agree that with the 'new' Enworld I am seeing more problems. The boards are glacially slow at times and that rarely if ever happened with the old ones, and I even have images and signatures turned off, and no special skin either. But it does not help much. If there any way to get a light Enworld?

As for posting, I'm pretty tired of the 'optimizing' 4E threads and people ranting on and on about their pet theories ad nauseum. Far less good stuff to read, and the combo is getting me to come here less and less. I am not a big poster, and never have been, but I do read a lot.

Or used to.

Bye-bye, Dom. And thanks for hooking me up with the Paris group a few years ago. I hope you still find time to play these days.

Maybe I'll see you around Dragonsfoot :-)

I do have to say that the technical problems the board's been having make me sort of drift off for a few days or so, every so often. Trying to follow a thread during peak hours is kind of an exercise in frustration.

Good luck to the ENWorld team with the fixes, I'm sure it's frustrating them even more than it is the users.

When it comes to "This board doesn't represent my interests anymore" -- hopefully we'll see more people *posting* about their interests, starting threads on those topics, rather than just leaving. The Hot New Topic always drifts through boards like this from time to time, but in practice that probably just means people are starving for other things to talk about. So do your part and help out, people!
