We ended up exchanging cards and watching two episodes of Angel before the little guy came home from daycare.

We'll watch the season finale after he's in bed tonight.

man, the amount of "neither" votes on here make me feel much better about my neither vote.

granted, my girl is out of town at a billy joel concert with her mom , but still...

who the hell still listens to billy joel?

and who, having a non-gaming S/O that doesn't despise this holiday, would spend it gaming?

I will most likely make dinner for my wife and children, rent some movies (1 for the kids, and 4 for me and the wife) and spend some good cuddle time with them all. Maybe a bottle of wine as well...but dunno

So is everything going ok now chakken98?

My wife (KidCthulhu) detests Valentine's Day, although we do both celebrate Feb 15th - "half-priced candy day!" I got her a card this year, though; she loved it. :D

Piratecat, I love that card!

For some reason unexpected nonsensical humour like that really cracks me up.

However I can picture the expression on my wife's face now if I gave her that card for any sort of anniversary or day of celebration. Luckily I can run faster than her. :)

P.S. I'm can actually write nice romantic thoughts and generally do so in the cards that I give her. Don't tell anyone though or my reputation will be ruined.

7 players (5 active, 2 on temporary hiatus) and the DM, and only 1 single guy in all that group (6 married, 1 w/ girlfriend, 1 single).

Gaming grinds to a halt if it conflicts with Valentine's Day (or any major holiday for that matter). Players often miss if their SO's birthday falls on gaming night. We're not dummies. ;)

Our saving grace is that we do play weekly, so if we miss a session now and again (like we did last night with an ill host), we are back in the saddle again the next week.

And stayed up until midnight watching the first two episodes of Season Five.

Happy 81st Birthday, Dad. (R.I.P.)

I actually got married a week before St. Valentine's Day, and had no game scheduled, but if I had a game scheduled for St. Valentine's Day it would definitely be one my wife was also playing in.

We don't celebrate St. Valentine's Day where I live (we celebrate our SOs on June 13th, St. Anthony's Day). But I had to work until late anyway, so it's a trebly moot point. ;)

In past I've canceled/bowed out from games on V-Day, and will continue to do so.
It makes her happy.

Besides only so many times a year I can give her Raise Dead material components and not have her do Sense Motive on me.
