Note post by other players characters on the previous page.

Buckthorn hits the lionid and himself with the storm. Again. The great best destroys the swarm and allowyn moves a bit.

Forge, perhaps too dazed to hear the warnings of the warlord and spellsword, attacks with his magic axe, yet again also triggering the storm. He is too weakened to affect the destroys the swarm, fortunately the storm misses him and the very unfortunate great cat.

Zombies rise and stumble forward and more swarms scurry over the black ice.

Sim is hit once by a swarm, and remains slowed and weakened. Zombie attacks on him remain largely ineffective. Forge is also affected by the aura, but otherwise lucky.

The great cat is not, as it is hit many times by zombies. It lies dying.

Allowyn -69hp, bloodied/word

Buckthorn (total) 41 hp, bloodied, dazed/thndr tsk

Forge -62 hp /come & get it, reactive surge, grit

Leandre negative hp, dying, dazed, prone, ruble-panicked/roar

Simorai -44 hp, slowed, weakened /dim. vortex, teleport, thund vortex

After seeing blast after blast of the storm, Sim hopes to see a way to counter or stop the storm (minor action, Arcana - 41). He retrieves the regular dagger or the Batorian dagger if within reach. He then unplugs the bottle of smoke which causes a burst 1 zone around him. Any creature other than Sim that starts its turn in the zone first takes 1d6 fire damage.

You retrieve the blades. You think you can use your skill with arcana to give you some defense from the storm, subtly disrupting it just before it might trigger. You do so know before you use your magic item. (you know the fire damage is very low, and might be ignored by some of the undead...though its may be good against the swarm in other ways. we will see.)

Can others also use a skill to disrupt effect (absolutely maybe)? Also, avoiding magic and magic items. Which seems to allow for other fantastical things...that are not technically magic, like the roar of the great cat, that don't trigger it.

DM rolls some dice

--should have waited to check the undead, but didn't

one swarm seems to be affected by the smoke. Their is a storm strike, but it has no affect on you.

Allowyn uses Bolstering Insight as an immediate interrupt on the attack the drops Leandre. This gives him +6 defense against the attack. If it causes the attack to miss, Leandre makes a basic attack against that zombie. (33 v AC)

Allowyn risks healing the cat again with another inspiring word. Leandre heals 53hp and gains 4 temp. He pulls out a small orb from his belt an tosses it at the 3 zombies in the back. (radiant orb, 42, 31, 31 vs reflex.)

If the healing word revives Leandre, the cat will second wind (if he can. can he spend a surge during combat in any way?) If he revived but can't heal he will claw at the 2 zombies in front of him. Cat doesn't save against the healing curse.

Timing with down characters in this is always tricky in the PBP, especially here, but won't worry this one time...

You reach down and shake the cat back to an inspired consciousness.

The great cat has ongoing 15 necrotic (save ends/you actually get one save now) and now has 78 hp. It is also down 3 surges.

While (finally!) using the most magical of the alchemical orbs...its white phosphorous enough not to trigger the storm. Your aim is not great, but you manage to incinerate 1 zombie.

Forge will trigger his guardian cloak to switch places with Simorai and will lash out at the zombie. As his axe cleaves through the zombie, the strength of the blow carries through to the bag of bones next to him (reaping axe feature, finally remembered.) - 22 damage. He'll use shielded sides to boost his defense. If he's hit on his turn, he'll trigger punishing shield block and if he's bloodied, he'll trigger his second wind.
