However, when I was watching the episode, I remember in the books that at some point he actually kept the cloak of invisibility for himself and used it on occasion. I was surprised he didn't keep it in the show.

Spoilers for the book (but probably not for the show, unless they bring the mriswyth back):
[sblock]I seem to recall that he actually became "addicted" to the cloak and was slowly becoming a mriswyth. That was how they made new mriswyth in the book, not by abducting people and sticking them in big gooey eggs. And they had three-bladed daggers that I always imaged looked like Japanese sais that they'd strike blade-to-blade and feel the vibration as a sort of bonding experience.

They're one of the few things I remember in detail. I really liked them for some reason.[/sblock]
