Already morning

As I understood previous posts, the party waited until morning to buy the horses, so now it is morning and the horses/supplies have been obtained. Time to strike off to adventure unless there is something else to be done?

[OOC: Oh. More than fine. Let's get going then. Ellydd can pray anywhere and will do so [obviously] before they hit the road.Let's do this!]

The evening before departure Rosco takes full advantage of his first time in a major city. He walks up to complete strangers who look like they are enjoying themselves. Goes carousing through the night time districts known for their revelry. Dances with any maiden he finds interested or can convince. At some point he looks around for Ellydd and secretly leaves him to his prayers at the shrine. Then, finally, Rosco passes out at the inn in his bed with a bottle of wine, a half-eaten ring of sausage, and a small dog he found who followed him around half the night.

OOC: Let me know roundabout how much that costs
In the morning Rosco wakes up, stretches, packs, and asks, "Well, where to first?"

Gorash leads the way on his new acquired pony who's name is "axe".
To the north west we travel. We can catch a ferry to the other side of the river with several silver coins I guess. from there, we'll ride to the hills that dot the horizon, this I guess is the place where the dead watch the lands to the south and a good post for humanoids to observe the roads.

OOC: Rosco --3 gp will leave R thoroughly debauched. 4 is epic consumption. 6 will leave the locals telling tales about him for years to come.

It Begins

The adventurers rise early and get underway with all due haste, riding at a steady, ground-eating pace heading to the northwest. About two hours into their journey, they see up ahead a slow moving horse, with a rider that appears to be falling from the saddle in slow motion. The horse and rider are just at the edge of a stand of tall brush that screens them somewhat from your view. You can only see them from about a height of four-and-a-half feet and upward. There are also a good number of shaggy trees in the vicinity. The horse and rider are about 100 yards ahead of you, and the trees and brush only become a significant obstacle about twenty yards closer to you than they are (80 yards).

Giron's eyes narrow in suspicion as he smoothly readies his long bow. He speaks in a low tone, as one used to fighting in the woodlands. "Be wary, friends. Looks like a good place for an ambuscade... but he may truly need help."

Indeed
Gorash adds
It can be a trick to fool us from nearby bandits. If the lad is wounded it is only because he brought this fate on himself by wandering alone.
Gorash scans the area around and draws his weapon and shield
You should speak to the man from afar, let us see if this is a trick or not.

Ellydd frowns obviously at the callous, if cautious, assumptions of his new comrades. He lightly snaps his reins and urges Ariil at a trot up toward the seemingly wounded or exhausted rider. [OOC: howandwhy99 I am assuming Rosco is riding behind Ellydd...or did he purchase a mount of his own?/OOC]

IF: the rider has not fallen off his horse) by the time Ellydd is within 30 yards, 10 yards outside where the "cover" begins, (that's some serious "slow motion" and thinks his cautious companions might be correct) he will pull up Ariil and call out to the figure.

"Ho there, rider. Blessings of the Lady of the Green be upon you. Are you in need of assistance?"

IF: the rider does fall off their mount, he will rush Ariil headlong into the greenwood to get to the rider's position, dismount, ascertain the rider's injuries and lend his aid (OOC: Ellydd is ready/willing to expend a Cure Lights if the rider appears to need it).
