Pathfinder 1E Leif's Questing Knights - L10 Pfdr Rpg [OOC 01] [Full]

Starting Location, et al.

Okay, so I have Johann, Hrain, Sozin, and Ero travelling together.

That leaves Dontrius, Eldran, Dior, and Yurei unaccounted for. What are their arrangements?

Anyway....

The game will begin in the City of Veluna. Please arrange your characters' backgrounds to wind up there. All PCs have been participating in quests, the details of which will be given as soon as you tell me which characters are travelling with which other characters and so forth. At any rate, the clues and portents have led you to the City of Veluna to seek out a noted wiseman. [EDIT: 7:56 CST, 2/27/13]

[Please note that I will be using the map from the Greyhawk Boxed Set published by TSR in ages past. All mapping discrepancies will be resolved in favor of the TSR map. The map linked above does have some extraneous cities/settlements shown, if nothing else. Any more serious problems have yet to be discovered (by me).]

Veluna is surrounded by: begining in the NW and progressing clockwise - Ket, Furyondy, Celene, the Duchy of Ulek, Gran March, and Bissel.

The nearest seaport is either Dyvers on the Nyr Dyv (which is an inland sea, or big lake, if you will), or Safeton, Fax or Elredd in the Pomarj, all on Wooly Bay, or next closest to Safeton is Hardby in the Duchy of Urnst, which is also on Wooly Bay. Of course, Wooly Bay is an arm of the Sea of Gearnat.

Dior and Eldran have been fighting side by side since the early days of their adventuring career and unless I'm mistaken Yurei joined later. Dior and Eldran could've met Yurei on one of many escort missions. If Lou would like Dontrius to join our merry little group at the same point as Yurei I would be fine with it. They could've been traveling together as well since they both dabble in the arcane arts.

How does this sound?

Dior and Eldran have fought together on-and-off since the beginning of the Greyhawk Wars, as stated above. The rangers have, in the post-war years, befriended the mysterious wizard Yurei, whom they have commissioned on occasion to provide sorcerous assistance during certain difficult tasks. It is through Yurei that they have met the warrior-mage Dontrius, who is less of a mercenary and more of an adventurer-thaumaturgist. They had just returned from a peril-fraught expedition which took them into the southern Wild Coast, and stopped in the Free City of Greyhawk. After only a day or two of rest, they were approached by Lemajen Sterrich, the local Knight Commander of the Order of the Hart. The Velunese ambassador, Canon Hadraith, had a dispatch that needed urgent and discrete delivery to Canon Hazen in Veluna City. The four companions agreed to the task, not knowing the fate that awaited them in the heart of the Archclericy...

THANKS Helfdan! This is AWESOME!! I had originally intended to check and see if the Pathfinder deities had any correspondence to Greyhawk deities, but I decided that they probably didn't, so I abandoned the idea. Looks like that was a mistake, huh?

Glad you gentlemen found it useful! I just thought it would be fun to call on Heironeous, Elohnna, Kelanen, and Saint Cuthbert , as we did in the old days

I noted it in the RG but just to be clear it appears Hraln, Sozin, Johann, and Ero will all be travelling together at the beginning.

May be we joined formally after fighting off the ogres in the village near Waybutay, Butay-on-the-by, happened upon Knowledge of <The DM's Devviously Crafted Mechinations> Which led us further Northwest accross the Lorridges to the city of Veluna?

That would be rather further West than I had originally imagined we would meet, but I guess it would be fine.

So, this gives us two groups of four, correct? Now I guess I just need to get the two together? Or are there more ideas about that?

I guess I'd better be careful -- you guys might just DM your own game and put me straight out of a job!

So Dior Targarin, Dontrius, Yurei, and Eldran are going to meet with Canon Hazen in Veluna City with a dispatch from Canon Hadraith the Ambassador of Veluna in the Free City of Greyhawk. Meanwhile, Hrain of the Road and Sozin met Johan Klaus the Damned and Ero Batzuen while they were making their way to the Archclericy of Veluna for reasons of their own, having formed a loose association amongst the four of them.

I can work with this and take it from here.
