Hraln frowns. Eying the knight, he whispers a prayer under his breath as he concentrates on the aura given off by the man. The inquisitor pries for any hint of a wicked intent, and then for signs of benevolence.

OOC: Detect evil, and if that does not turn anything up, detect good.

"Ahh, that's more like it! Sporting men I perceive. Just to the first un-horsing, no more." Hraln senses no evil in the knight, and then, yes, he does detect good. Not overmuch good, mind you, but there is definitely some good in the man.

Hraln relaxes a bit. "Go ahead and knock him off his horse," he says quietly to Johann. "I don't think it'll do no harm."

"There once was a knight from Ket, upon his head sat a bucket. He once nearly drowned, while standing on dry ground, when he mistook it for his helmet! " Sozin says out loud.

"Sozin!" says Johann in a low voice.

"Well Diego," he says to his horse," It been a while, but its just like, well, falling off a horse" he says with a grin, patting his mounts shoulder.

"I seem to be at a disadvantage, I have no lance." he calls out.

The knight pays Sozin no heed whatsoever, and there was a sudden gust of wind at just that moment, so it is unclear whether he heard the 'ditty.' "Tommy, fetch my adversary a selection of lances from which to choose," he says, and the squire presents five lances of different styles, weights, and lengths to Johann.

OOC: tell you what -- because he wants a fair fight, one of the lances is masterwork quality. Whether you choose it will be randomly determined, unless Johann scores an 18+ on an armory, weaponsmithing, or other relevant skill check, in which case he can immediately spot the masterwork lance. [Or a fighter/ranger/paladin/cavalier level check, which might be the best way to go?] None of the other PCs is close enough to offer assistance, because the two combatants have moved onto the list now, unless someone wants to act as Johann's squire? [Butt-smooching will be optional. Please feel free to roleplay this to the fullest.]

"So, sir knight, how fare you this day? Been challenging people often? Do you do side bets? Say 100 in gold coin?"
