Leif's The Hall of the Rainbow Mage, IC (A) [D&D 3.5]

Whin coughed once as he motioned the guards on their way and continued walking. Once the guards were out of earshot and the conversation had moved onto the golems, he spoke "If we do run into golems, you'll find I'm more than equipped for dealing with them. Back in Thay I used such creatures as practice dummies. Sometimes they tried fighting back." He grew a wicked grin at the memories.

"Your offer on the traps however, I will gladly take up." he nods to Sam "And I will be relying on you all if there is need of magics - My training was more martial, what magical power I do have revolves around that. My job is keeping mages alive to do THEIR jobs." He then leans in to whisper to Nilah "Understood. Try to stay with the gnome, and I'll try to keep the mages safe and out of the way in case we need them later."

One on one, Whin can take any core golem below the Greater Stone, so he doesn't see them as an issue. In fact, from his arrogant point of view, no physical opponent short of a dragon or greater outsider would serve as a challenge. Traps, on the other hand, are not exactly something he's equipped to deal with.

"While most consider me more of a generalist mage, my real expertise lies in the area of abjuration." Vaidun smiles. "Both in protections, and dispelling the protection magics of others. Hopefully those skills aren't needed, but you never know."

Hopefully!

Blade looks to Sam and says "If you plan to go ahead, I'll be with you, travelling in the shadows and remaining out of sight. It's not wise to enter in alone."

"He wouldn't be going in alone. I planned to take point and keep an eye out for any magewrought trickeries... seeing the telltale signs of your kind's work... magic..."

"I suggest the rest of you remain with me, a ways behind them. We will keep safe from any ambush but close enough to aid them should they require our assistance."

OOC: When you guys get this settled as to who is where, I'm going to need a marching order diagram (just in regular ENWorld taxt will be fine) showing me your relative positions, distances between you, etc.

"Perhaps we should send you in with Gomlar?.... I realize he is rather large.. but he's good for cover... not to mention if there ARE magical traps within this rainbow mages abode... Gomlar may be immune to a lot of them due to his construct nature.... thoughts on this?' Laz spoke softly... a refined tone offering the groups heading in a bit of comfort and protection even though one of main reasons for suggesting it WAS to save his own ass from being caught in a trap... that is one of the reasons after all that he built the stone golem in the first place....
